All characters feat. kapatid handles. Baybayin is an ancient Philippine script, predating Spanish colonization. It's a syllabic system, blending consonants and vowels into elegant characters. Historically, it was used for writing and creative expression on natural materials. After Spanish colonization, it waned in usage. In recent years, Baybayin has seen a revival as a symbol of Filipino heritage, with efforts to preserve and reintegrate it into education and culture. The kapatid handles are handcrafted through the art of coiling and manual attachment, both to each other and to the mug. Each handle features four coils, symbolizing the unity of family; with each coil representing one of my siblings and myself.
